1st International Workshop on Natural Fibre
Composites
19-21 October 2003
Hotel Continental Terme
Ischia (Italy)
Organized by:
University of Perugia, Material Science and Technology Laboratory, Terni, Italy
Institute of Composite and Biomedical Materials IMCB CNR, Naples, Italy

Aims and Scope
Natural fibre reinforced composites have shown renewed interest as a substitute for glass
fibres in many composite applications. Their environmental compatibility coupled with
their mechanical properties make natural fibres a very attractive product for plastic
producers, which now have to face problems of pollution and more strict environmental
regulations.
The aim of this workshop is to bring together experts and researchers from industries and
universities that will share their experience and discuss the advantages and disadvantages
of the use of Natural Fibre Composites in order to frame the present state of art. The
workshop is therefore open to industry engineers, technicians, researchers and students
from universities and institutions that have experience in this field or want to begin to
work with natural fibres.
